Description

In the midst of power upgrades becoming more prevalent; it is easy to focus on horsepower and torque figures. However, your numbers don’t mean much if you can’t get the power to the ground effectively.

Enter the Rear Motor Mount…the performance part you didn’t know you needed.

100% of the power your Honda Civics' engine creates must be applied to the axles/wheels/tires to get them rolling and your Civic moving; but what holds the engine in place? The rear engine mount (along with the other two mounts) have the demanding job of keeping the engine in your Civic SI in-place. Unfortunately, the OE engine mount quickly loses effectiveness as the engine power output increases.

If you find yourself fighting for traction and would like to improve throttle response then look no further, the 27WON Performance Rear Engine Mount is the performance upgrade just for you.

Compared to OE and other options on the market you may notice something is missing…or is it? With our design less is more; which is why our mount utilizes only one polyurethane isolated mounting point.

The mounting point between engine and RMM has a primary motion and secondary motion.

  • Primary = rotational
  • Secondary = up/down

  • The polyurethane mounting point on the engine reduces the primary rotational movement of the engine while still allowing a small amount of movement due to the polyurethane compressing.

The rigid mounting point connected to the chassis sub-frame eliminates the up/down motion that the engine follows while the engine rotates. This eliminates associated secondary vibration and thus reduces NVH. Check out the blogs below for more details.

27won design strength subheadline

In an effort to reduce weight and maintain strength, the 27WON Performance RMM utilizes an “I-Beam” style design (very similar to high performance connecting rods) to connect the two mounting points. This design provides a reduction in weight without a significant sacrifice in tensile and compressive strength. The weight savings add up to ~1/2 lb vs OE.

27won durometer hardness subheadline

A noticeable bump up in performance (street) or leave it all on the track (race). The 27WON engine mount is available with 2 options for durometer hardness so you can select a mount that best suits your driving profile. Our 70A street gives a big drop in torque steer while being more civil in regards to NVH as compared to our 90A race. Our 90A race mount is for for those who put outright performance over comfort and can accept the extra NVH that gives them maximum performance.

The steel sleeve within the polyurethane pucks is manufactured from 303 stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance. The twin poly bushings are custom molded from a proprietary polyurethane blend. This material is chosen because it offers excellent performance in dynamic loading, shock absorption, and water environment, the exact conditions your engine mount will be subjected to.

27won billet or cast subheadline

The body of the 27WON Race RMM is manufactured from two types of material depending on your choice. 6061-T6 billet aluminum for superior strength and weight or die-cast aluminum for a more budget friendly version. Both versions utilize our same CAD design to ensure a mount that will perform for your 10th gen Honda Civic.

NVH subheadline
front-pipe-exhaust-next-27won-rear-engine-mount

Noise, Vibration, & Harshness (NVH) is an evaluation of the various irritants that can be transmitted through the vehicle into the cabin and directly to the driver and passengers. OE engineers and designers spend countless hours reducing/eliminating NVH from vehicles, however, this sometimes comes with a compromise in performance and vehicle feedback. Not all NVH is created equal, an OE designer may consider turbo noise to be unwanted NVH, whereas a performance enthusiast may consider it a desired sound.

At 27WON when designing performance parts that may affect the vehicles NVH we strive to find the right balance of performance improvement and NVH increase. Ideally, we are able to create a performance part that does not affect NVH, but that is not always the case. Examples are exhaust systems, intake systems, engine mounts, suspension components…etc.

With the addition of a 27WON performance engine mount increased NVH will be an inherent part of the upgrade. While we do our absolute best to deliver a mount that works great and feels amazing some customers may find the higher levels of NVH to be too great. It is our guarantee that 100% of customers will love this mount. If for any reason you have any concerns with the mount simply reach out to us and our team will be sure to find a solution that works for you.

I highly recommend getting both the street and the racing rear motor mount. I originally got the 90a racing mount and right away loved it! The vibration was a little loud and I wasn’t able to hear the rest of the car so I installed the street one. That one is perfect! I am keeping the 90a race mount for track days because it was that good, and is really easy or affordable to swap out.
Got the street version for my type r and don't regret it at all. The change in feel of the transmission and steering give you so much more of a connected feel to the car. Helped with wheelspin, was a little worried about the introduction of NVH, however with the street version it is almost not noticeable if you're already used to the sound of an aftermarket exhaust. They've done an amazing job with the street version having a perfect balance between fun and functionality, definitely recommend it for a daily driver like mine.
Love this thing! I got the race version, because why not. But realized the vibration is just a touch too much for daily driving, so I will be getting the street version sooner than later. The pulls are better than ever though. Highly recommend.
I bought the 27 won street rear mount and so far I enjoy this rear mount. I did notice that when I installed this product and started my engine it does rattle and vibrant but I have gotten use too it. I did do a couple of pulls with this rear mount too and I noticed some difference my car doesn't spin the tires that much no more this rear mount does a great job at keeping the power straight to the wheels without spinning. Also it's perfect for daliy driving for my Honda CVT. I would have went with the race rear mount but I'm not trying to make more power because it's my daliy. I would highly recommend this product if you wanna upgrade your rear mount. Benefits from 27 won rear mount:
Not that much wheel spin
It's good for keeping the power straight to the wheels
Perfect for daliy driving
Perfect for hitting the mountains
A amazing product from 27 won.
But if you wanna make power go with 27 won race version. I say the street version is just for daliy driving and for some fun.
Got the 27won rear motor mount 90a, thanks Dalas for shipping it and it came a day before it was expected. As for the first feel, I love it! Brings back memories of when I started to learn to drive stick shift in a 1970 Beetle back when I was a teenager, I always love that aggressive feel of the car and still do now. At first it seemed that it changed the exhaust note but that's not the case, it's just the NVH of the mount that caused an increase in the cabin making it seem that the exhaust is louder. The RPM range of 1k to 2k seems a little loud even at low throttle and to some it will be annoying but I personally don't mind it since it makes me feel more connected to the car and that's exactly what I wanted for the car. Shifting feels better, I use to feel the engine going back and forth during gear changes but it's mostly gone now. I'm in PR so the roads aren't the smoothest but the wheel hop is basically gone. Fast forwarding after 500 miles, the cars NVH isn't as "bad" as it was at the beginning, it still has an "annoying" NVH between 1k to 2k RPM but that's only if you are somewhat lugging it which gets worse if you seriously lug the car. The good thing about that NVH in that range is that it makes you a better driver and reminds you to treat the car with better care. In summary, I have no regrets on going for the higher cost of the RMM for 27won, it's exactly what I wanted, I love it and am happy it was my first performance/support MOD I did to the car. I do plan to get the full product list for 27won. Odds are I am going to upgrade the clutch next to finally add more power.
I believe this is of the most overlooked performance mods out there, the OEM RMM always has a rubber band feel on the pedal and so much power is lost there. Now the car reacts much quicker to the pedal and this mod with a tune should be the first on everyone's list if power is what you are looking for

i got 27Won 70a because mine is a CVT and it was loud at first about 1200-1400 RPMs but after i went to another shop to re-torque it, (after 500km) the NVH is perfectly acceptable. ! since went for a 2000km road trip with no problems. Been out of the country and now finally back to my Civic. Cant wait to bring it for another road trip next month!
This was my first ever mod to my 10th gen civic (yay 27won!). Installation should have been 10 minutes, i made it 30 by being stupid, so don't be like me. At first, the NVH was jarring, and even became too much. I pushed through it though, and after about 500 miles, it broke in, the NVH is hardly noticeable, yet the performance of the part remains. From the packaging, to the install, to the benefit, 27 Won, you nailed it all!
Very happy with the street version — huge difference — car doesn’t shake as bad as everyone made it sound
Went with the 90A. What a great buy! The sound difference everyone is saying is too loud is honestly not bad at all. I've driven it long enough now to the point it only gets loud when you really get on it! Sounds great in my opinion! I would recommend it for sure!
Legit high-quality product. Feels like I'm driving a different car!! Fast shipping. Lots of extra swag in the box. Can't wait until more of your fk8 parts are in stock!!
