This unwanted movement causes a delay in how quickly the brakes respond and gives a lazy feel and poor feedback to the driver.
Our Master Cylinder Brake Brace attaches to our solid 1-piece Front Strut Tower Bar and gives support to the brake master cylinder. This in turn removes unwanted flex from the pedal. It not only gives better feeling but it is safer on the track, when milliseconds of reaction time can mean all the difference. You might be wondering what exactly is a Master Cylinder Brake Brace and how does it work?
The brake master cylinder on your 2022+ Civic Sedan or Hatch and 23+ Integra is a cast metal tube with a plastic reservoir on top full of brake fluid. Its purpose is to use the brake fluid to generate pressure to the brake calipers on all 4 corners of your Civic/Integra to slow the car down. This master cylinder connects to your foot through a series of links that amplify the force from your foot.
Unfortunately the master cylinder is secured to your firewall (a very thin section of sheet metal that separates the passenger compartment from the engine bay). Because the firewall is pretty flimsy, when you hit hard on the pedal it actually bends and flexes a bit. As a result, the time from when you hit the pedal to the time the pads engage is increased and pedal feel is very uninspiring.
The 27WON Brake Brace attaches to your 27WON FSTB bar with a simple set of bolts and washers to restrict the master cylinder from moving. With the brace installed, some of the energy that went to flexing the firewall now helps increase brake engagement and driver feedback. Check out the videos above to see this in action.
