Our Soft Launch is here fam! What does this mean? It means Turboback exhausts are available now and ship quick. If you have a 27WON Downpipe and want a Catback, go ahead and order as well.

For those wanting a Catback and currently using 3rd party aftermarket or OE downpipes, those versions will roll out later this Spring/Early Summer.

315 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque yet Honda decided to release the latest 2023+ Civic Type R with such a quiet sounding exhaust? Ok, ok, they gave it an active valve tied to drive mode. That’s a bit trick, but let’s be real, a Type R should sound fierce, mean, deep, right?!

Well, we found the stock exhaust to be lame (as you could tell) and we did not disappoint in delivering a brand-new system that is worthy of a true Type R. Just listen to this system below

You want the highlights? Ok, we use 80MM piping (3.125 inches) and maintain that massive increase in cross sectional area all the way through to the Tips to deliver the performance you guys are craving. We also kept true to the ethos of 27WON and did not skimp on the small details either so you get thick 3 bolt flanges at each connection point and drop in fitment with all the hardware you’ll need for the right install the first time. You have the option to purchase this system as a catback or as a full turboback once again cementing 27WON as the only brand on the market putting forward a complete exhaust from turbo to tip.

Dynapack dyno power gains

This is a bit nuts! You’re looking at a dyno plot below of a 100% stock FL5 on our Dynapack dyno before and after install of our catback exhaust system.

The results? Peak WHP improved +6 and peak torque went up +8. But, that’s only part of the story. Check out the spread between 2000 and 3750 RPM. We saw massive gains of close to 20WHP in this area! That’s the grunt you feel on your butt dyno all day every day. What about the top end you say? Well, look at the 5500+RPM range. The 27WON exhaust simply runs away from the OEM exhaust here on its way to delivering a gain of +17WHP. With custom tuning you’ll eek out even more gains. And remember this is just the catback. Add in a downpipe and the gains are going to be even that much better!.

What would a Type R be without its signature triple tip design? We kept true to the spirit of the OE design with a bold center tip being the focal point measuring in at almost 4.5 inches with 2 smaller ~4 inches tips at either side.

Each tip is a polished 304SS dual-wall design that really complements your Civic Type R. Bold, aggressive, beautiful. They’ll hear and see you coming down the block and stare at it in awe when you pull up at your next cars and coffee meet.

If you want a copy & paste design, look elsewhere. Look, we’ve heard all the other exhaust systems on the market and they sound alright. Not great, but better than stock. They also all mainly use 3 inch (76MM) or smaller diameter piping. Average. Not here.

We went back to our roots a bit and brought out our upsized 3.125 (80MM) piping as we knew this size was unique and it just flat out works well. It’s bigger than 99% of exhausts out there. It delivers exceptional flow capabilities and it looks great.

Here’s the lowdown. You get to keep the OEM valve functionality that opens and closes the middle section of the axle-back for added loudness when you want it and a softer tone when you don’t. It’s the best of both worlds.

Read this! It’s important in picking the right version for the exact exhaust tone you want. Depending on which version you get, you’ll be set with either a resonated mid-pipe or a non-resonated midpipe. Each of these are meant to be used specifically with or without a downpipe.

  • Non-resonated: This setup is ideal for a FL5 owner who is still using their stock downpipe. It's loud enough to hear it and has the perfect deep tone to match the characteristics of the CTR
  • Resonated: This setup is included if you purchase this exhaust as a turboback unit (see below). This is also the version you should get if you are already running an aftermarket downpipe or plan to soon as well as for those people that want a tamer aftermarket exhaust.

Make the tough call! Do you want all the sauce? Opt for the full turboback which includes a downpipe (at a discount). Want to keep things a bit simpler? Opt for just the catback to still get you that sweet upgraded sound and looks without messing with a downpipe install.

This 27WON exhaust system comes with a full 80mm frontpipe no matter which version you go with . We found it important to maximize the benefit of an upgraded exhaust and you achieve this by removing as much of the restrictive stock exhaust as possible. That means scrapping the option to fit to the small OEM frontpipe in favor of a full 3.125-inch fitment. There is no restriction in pipe size to mate to the OE frontpipe. You asked and we delivered.

  • Tuning is recommended for those customers opting for our turboback option. This can be accomplished with a basic map from Hondata/Cobb. Catback versions do not require any tuning
