Description

In the midst of power upgrades becoming more prevalent; it is easy to focus on horsepower and torque figures. However, your numbers don’t mean much if you can’t get the power to the ground effectively.

Enter the Rear Motor Mount…the performance part you didn’t know you needed.

100% of the power your Honda Civics' engine creates must be applied to the axles/wheels/tires to get them rolling and your Civic moving; but what holds the engine in place? The rear engine mount (along with the other two mounts) have the demanding job of keeping the engine in your Civic SI in-place. Unfortunately, the OE engine mount quickly loses effectiveness as the engine power output increases.

If you find yourself fighting for traction and would like to improve throttle response then look no further, the 27WON Performance Rear Engine Mount is the performance upgrade just for you.

Compared to OE and other options on the market you may notice something is missing…or is it? With our design less is more; which is why our mount utilizes only one polyurethane isolated mounting point.

The mounting point between engine and RMM has a primary motion and secondary motion.

  • Primary = rotational
  • Secondary = up/down

  • The polyurethane mounting point on the engine reduces the primary rotational movement of the engine while still allowing a small amount of movement due to the polyurethane compressing.

The rigid mounting point connected to the chassis sub-frame eliminates the up/down motion that the engine follows while the engine rotates. This eliminates associated secondary vibration and thus reduces NVH. Check out the blogs below for more details.

27won design strength subheadline

In an effort to reduce weight and maintain strength, the 27WON Performance RMM utilizes an “I-Beam” style design (very similar to high performance connecting rods) to connect the two mounting points. This design provides a reduction in weight without a significant sacrifice in tensile and compressive strength. The weight savings add up to ~1/2 lb vs OE.

27won durometer hardness subheadline

A noticeable bump up in performance (street) or leave it all on the track (race). The 27WON engine mount is available with 2 options for durometer hardness so you can select a mount that best suits your driving profile. Our 70A street gives a big drop in torque steer while being more civil in regards to NVH as compared to our 90A race. Our 90A race mount is for for those who put outright performance over comfort and can accept the extra NVH that gives them maximum performance.

The steel sleeve within the polyurethane pucks is manufactured from 303 stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance. The twin poly bushings are custom molded from a proprietary polyurethane blend. This material is chosen because it offers excellent performance in dynamic loading, shock absorption, and water environment, the exact conditions your engine mount will be subjected to.

27won billet or cast subheadline

The body of the 27WON Race RMM is manufactured from two types of material depending on your choice. 6061-T6 billet aluminum for superior strength and weight or die-cast aluminum for a more budget friendly version. Both versions utilize our same CAD design to ensure a mount that will perform for your 10th gen Honda Civic.

NVH subheadline
front-pipe-exhaust-next-27won-rear-engine-mount

Noise, Vibration, & Harshness (NVH) is an evaluation of the various irritants that can be transmitted through the vehicle into the cabin and directly to the driver and passengers. OE engineers and designers spend countless hours reducing/eliminating NVH from vehicles, however, this sometimes comes with a compromise in performance and vehicle feedback. Not all NVH is created equal, an OE designer may consider turbo noise to be unwanted NVH, whereas a performance enthusiast may consider it a desired sound.

At 27WON when designing performance parts that may affect the vehicles NVH we strive to find the right balance of performance improvement and NVH increase. Ideally, we are able to create a performance part that does not affect NVH, but that is not always the case. Examples are exhaust systems, intake systems, engine mounts, suspension components…etc.

With the addition of a 27WON performance engine mount increased NVH will be an inherent part of the upgrade. While we do our absolute best to deliver a mount that works great and feels amazing some customers may find the higher levels of NVH to be too great. It is our guarantee that 100% of customers will love this mount. If for any reason you have any concerns with the mount simply reach out to us and our team will be sure to find a solution that works for you.

Went with the 90A. What a great buy! The sound difference everyone is saying is too loud is honestly not bad at all. I've driven it long enough now to the point it only gets loud when you really get on it! Sounds great in my opinion! I would recommend it for sure!
Legit high-quality product. Feels like I'm driving a different car!! Fast shipping. Lots of extra swag in the box. Can't wait until more of your fk8 parts are in stock!!
Very happy with the street version. The NVH is very minimal and it’s only got 600 miles on it. The traction in 1st and 2nd is so much better. A must have mod for the FK8.
Had it for around 3 month and I love it.
Really eliminates spin in 1 and 2nd gear. You really can feel car much more better.
Highly recommend if you have car tuned makes car even more fun!
Hugh shoutout to Vlad for answering my questions and helping me to make a decision.
So I went the 90A billet mount. Only took 30mins to install. Super easy process, only tedious thing was that the front pipe wouldn’t allow the engine side bolt to go into place (which is no fault to 27Won), which wasn’t a big issue and I easily overcame it. Upon first start up a smile immediately lit up my face as I felt the car rumble. I love the feel of the pedals vibrating. I immediately noticed shifting was way smoother, and that there was no more annoying “rocking” that you would get with the stock mount. The exhaust tone inside the cabin sounds so much better (and I’m still on a stock exhaust set up). It’s a much more analog driving experience which I find refreshing. During some RPM ranges I find the NVH to be a little on the rough side, but I know that the mount still hasn’t been broken in yet. I highly recommend this mount. If you’re on the fence about this mount, the cast 70A mount from 27Won, or any other mount, I’d just send it and go with this one. 27Won knocked it out of the park yet again.
I purchased both the street and the race to see what I’d like or prefer. Or switch if I wanted to hit the track or daily. Great quality . I’m overall very happy
This should be the first mod for everyone's 10th gen civic. Got the street 70A. Fairly easy install. Car is much more responsive and the power gets down so much better. NVH was a little heavy after install but after 2-3 weeks of having it in, it is almost gone. Absolutely love it.
I installed the 90a billet mount ten days ago on my 2020 FC3. I drove 400 miles so far on NYC streets and highways.
The initial NVH is a little intense but so satisfying. You can immediately feel the difference in driveability in the lower gears. Engagement in first gear is smoother and quicker than it ever was. The mount also gives you a lot more control in the first two gears due to the reduced wheel hop, increased traction and elimination of engine movement. Even something as simple as going over speed bumps (or potholes) is a much less annoying task than before the install.
The car very clearly puts power to the ground more effectively than before. Anyone who's been in my car since the install (car enthusiast or not) can tell the difference right away.

The NVH starts to settle down after about 250 miles and now, at 400 is way more manageable and still enjoyable.

I currently run TSP Stage 1 with the PRL CAI with the Race MAF housing.
The 27Won billet mount is an upgrade I highly recommend to anyone with a manual transmission Civic X. It most definitely adds more smiles per gallon.
Let me just say that this product is awesome! I got the race mount and couldn't be happier. The install was mostly pain-free with a couple of hang-ups with getting the chassis bolt out of the OEM mount and bolting the new mount to the engine but overall it was easy. The vibrations were rough for the first two days but afterward drop to a very tolerable (enjoyable?) level. The additional feedback from the engine is great and improves the feel of the car. Torque steer has been reduced considerably and I am able to put much more power down to the road than before. I enjoy the added noise, but as I said before, it drops considerably over the first couple of days to a level that I think is very tolerable for most, especially those who want more feedback from the car.
I got the street RMM and it is amazing! I am almost near the end of the break in period and I can say that I don't regret buying this version versus the race RMM.

Install took way longer than needed because I didnt have a pry bar and I did it myself at 2 in the morning. Would've taken me 30 minutes max had I had a pry bar...

Also shout out to Vald for keeping me updated on shipping, as it was slightly delayed when I purchased it. I cant wait for my next 27Won product!
