The ACT HC10-HDSS Heavy Duty Performance Street Sprung Clutch Kit is designed to substantially increase torque capacity without turning your street-driven Civic, Integra or Accord into an unpleasant on/off race clutch.
ACT pairs its Heavy Duty pressure plate with a 240mm sprung organic Performance Street disc and Streetlite flywheel to create a complete single-mass upgrade capable of handling up to 363 lb-ft of engine torque — a rated increase of 63% over the original clutch capacity.
Unlike a more aggressive ceramic race clutch, the HC10-HDSS retains an organic friction material and sprung hub designed around smooth, progressive engagement and everyday drivability.

The factory clutch was designed around factory torque. It can be pushed a bit higher into the ~250 lb-ft range, but then you run the risk of slipping with anything more than that. The HC10-HDSS gives your drivetrain considerably more room to grow.
This clutch package is rated for 363 lb-ft of torque measured at the engine, representing a 63% increase in torque capacity over the OE clutch.
That additional holding capacity makes this a natural upgrade for turbocharged 1.5L Honda and Acura owners increasing boost, adding bolt-ons or moving beyond the torque levels the original clutch was designed to manage.
Most importantly, that increased capacity doesn't require jumping directly to an aggressive race-disc setup. The setup bridges the gap between a stock replacement clutch and a dedicated competition clutch.

This pressure plate is engineered to provide the additional clamp load needed to keep that disc firmly engaged as torque increases.
ACT uses its own diaphragm design to increase clamp load while controlling deflection through the pressure plate assembly.
The diaphragm springs also undergo a multi-stage heat-treatment process designed to improve consistency and durability.
The result is a pressure plate designed not simply to clamp harder, but to maintain consistent operation through repeated high-load use.
