Maybe your current rotors are still in great shape. Maybe you already have replacement rotors you like. Or maybe you simply want to improve the caliper and pad package without paying for components you do not need. That is exactly what this kit was built to do.

The 27WON Front Caliper Upgrade retains the applicable factory-size front rotors and factory brake hoses while replacing the original front calipers with a fixed 4-piston design. That keeps the upgrade focused, reduces the number of parts being replaced, and creates a lower-cost path into a more performance-oriented front brake setup.

Both a full BBK and a caliper upgrade kit improve the factory braking system, but they are built for two different goals.

The Front Caliper Upgrade Kit keeps the factory-size rotors and factory brake hoses, while the Full Big Brake Kit replaces the complete front braking package with larger 2-piece rotors, upgraded 27WON calipers using larger stainless staggered pistons finished in one of 3 painted colors and stainless steel brake lines.

• Non-Si trims will need to upgrade to larger Si (or A-Spec) specific brake rotors prior to installation of this caliper kit
• Under extreme temperatures from overheating, the anodized finish on the caliper body may begin to fade. Take care to not use any harsh cleaners on the calipers to preserve finish
• The 27WON BBK is designed to be used with 17" inch or larger diameter wheels. Several 18' OEM wheels do not require any spacer
• A complete set of replacement brake pads options is listed at the bottom of this page
• Minor tweaking of the brake rotor dust shields is required. Instructions included
• We recommend replacing brake rotors when minimum thickness is reached per the Honda Factory Service Manual. If going back to your stock factory braking calipers after removal of this 4-piston kit, rotor replacement is recommended due to unswept area differences

The factory Civic and Integra front calipers use a floating design. In a floating caliper, the caliper body moves as the brake is applied. It is a simple and effective solution for a mass-production street car, but it is not the layout we would choose when performance is the priority.

The 27WON caliper uses a fixed 4-piston arrangement that applies braking force from both sides of the rotor. The caliper itself stays fixed in position while opposing pistons press the brake pads against the rotor.

For the driver, the goal is a more direct and confidence-inspiring brake response, more consistent pressure across the pad, and improved modulation when you are asking more from the brakes during spirited street driving.
